Young people from YMCA’s youth development programme – Raise Up – are showing the power of teenagers during national Youth Week, 19-27 May, with a series of events for youth and by youth across Auckland.

The team at Onehunga War Memorial Pools has been working hard behind the scenes to get the indoor pools reopened after the roof was damaged during a storm a few weeks ago. The indoor pools, spa and sauna will reopen from 5:15am, Friday 27 April.
Sixty-five teenagers from YMCA’s youth development programme – Raise Up – converged on Camp Adair in Auckland’s Hunua Ranges in mid-April for three days of leadership and confidence building activities.
During the storm on April 10 part of the roof at Onehunga War Memorial Pool was damaged. As a result, the indoor pool was closed one week prior to the scheduled closure for maintenance and refurbishment work. The Onehunga fitness centre and outdoor pool remain open.
Eleven people have graduated from Jumpstart this April at the YMCA Cameron Pools, Mt Roskill joining over 950 other Kiwis who have already completed the 10-week diabeteshealth management programme across the country in the last three years.
