At YMCA Hamilton we offer a wide range of programmes and so there's something for everyone!

YMCA Hamilton has a long history of being a central and influential part of the community, enriching lives and encouraging health and well-being through fitness, education, fun and recreation.

We believe that strong families have fun and stay healthy together. The fitness facilities and programmes on offer at YMCA Hamilton will help to get your family moving together. We have programmes for children and adults and families, a fully equipped fitness centre, group fitness classes and boxing academy and a range of membership options to suit your needs. We also promote and facilitate a variety of community based programmes enjoyed by people from all walks of life and all ages with our Jumpstart diabetes and Y-Gold seniors programme.

It’s so important to give kids the best possible start in life, and that’s why we offer a fantastic range of kids’ programmes. We have gymnastics, dance, hip-hop and boxing classes for children plus cool before and after school care and holiday programmes. 

To build strong communities, YMCA Hamilton believes in providing facilities and services to help communities get together including casual use of the basketball courts to shoot some hoops! If you need a venue in Hamilton, whether it’s for a children’s birthday party, sports tournament or corporate functions we can help you out.

With over 25 classes a week you can learn new boxing skills, have a quick high intensity work out with METAFIT, enjoy the zen of Re-flex, take a ride with spin, or gain functional movement through Pilates and Yoga and much more!

Jumpstart

Jumpstart participants will attend educational sessions which covers a range of topics from understanding diabetes, what to look out for and the importance of exercise in managing your diabetes. There will also be nutritional advice run by the program leader from meal planning to reading food labels. Participants will have access to local health providers for additional support.

Y-Gold

Y-Gold is a targeted gym based programme for over 60’s designed to support independent lifestyles. The programme offers a strong social atmosphere and is based on individual functional movement, and is followed by a cup of tea to follow!

Our Before and After school care programmes offer a variety of activities including art, crafts, cooking, sports, games and free play. Raise Up Youth Programme

Raise Up with YMCA Hamilton is an internationally recognized programme for youth aged 13 to 18 years of age. Each year youth apply to be apart of Raise Up. They are guided by a coordinator to organise and run their own community events throughout the year and learn the responsibilities needed to run a successful event.

Birthday Parties

There is only one word to describe parties at YMCA Hamilton and that's FUN! We cater for all children and there will be a staff member on hand to help you run your party, along with games and free play on the YMCA equipment. Talk us through any particular interests or themes you have in mind.

All you need to do is bring the party food, decorations and cake of course!

Childrens Gymnastics

YMCA Hamilton recreational gymnastics programme develops each week and is based around movement patterns. Each gymnastics class builds on the skills learned in the previous weeks and is tracked by our Colours (Beginners) and Stages (Intermediate) development programme to allow your child to make steady progress and have fun along the way!

Y-Dance Classes

We have hip-hop and dance classes for you to choose from that will teach them creativity and musicality.

Dance provides movement and music programme for preschool and school aged children aged 2 to 12 years of age. They offer children the opportunity to express themselves within a fun, safe and caring environment.

Hip-Hop combines the latest beats with lots of current hip-hop styles to try! This class is for children from 9yrs up, teens and adults!

Children's Boxing

What can boxing teach your child?
Strategy, discipline, balance, agility, confidence and fitness! Watch your children’s ability develop and then see them channel their emotions and active needs into results. Watch their confidence grow as these skills develop throughout the programme. The YMCA we will encourage you to also train with your children, and get skilled and fit as a team; together.
