Facility Renovations 2020

Update 28/09/20

https://www.ymcaauckland.org.n...

We are pleased to announce that renovations are planned to be undertaken at the Onehunga War Memorial Pools in the first half of 2020 starting 3rd February with an estimated completion date of October/November 2020.

These renovations are to refurbish the Indoor Changing Rooms, add a pool side shower area and to modernise the Reception area.

We aim to achieve a functional and engaging entrance to your facility including access gates for improved accessibility and security. We will be adding a new disability changing room and upgrading the existing changing rooms with a new look and flooring.

During this time a temporary Reception area and entrance will be provided for the Fitness Centre and Pools. The Outdoor Changing Rooms and toilets will be available for patrons to use throughout the refurbishment of the Indoor Changing Rooms.

We will aim to keep all group fitness and OSCAR programmes as per normal with alternate assess pathways.

There will regrettably be some noise and disruption caused during the works, but actions will be taken to minimise the impact of this including the installation of temporary hoardings and noise control measures.

Emergency evacuation routes will be altered during the works so patrons will need to follow the instructions provided by pool staff should an event occur.

Short-term closures of part of Park Gardens Lane with unavailability of some car parking spaces are expected to be necessary for materials delivery and loading but where possible, these will be undertaken at off-peak times. We will have regular updates available on our website.

These upgrades have been a long time coming and we hope you are as excited as we are to see the finished product. Thank you for your patience and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
