At Glen Innes Pool and Leisure Centre managed by YMCA, we believe that the earlier children learn to swim, the better. Research shows that babies under 12 months take to the water more readily than older children, while older children tend to develop a fear of water if they’ve had little or no experience of it.
Swimming lessons are important in helping your child to gain water confidence as well as teaching both parents and children important water safety behaviours. YMCA’s baby and preschool swimming lessons specialise in contributing directly to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of your child.
Classes focus on water awareness and water safety teaching critical skills such as unaided back float and front to back rotations. YMCA’s baby and Preschool programme, starting from 6-months old, ensures that your child receives tuition that best meets their needs and skill level.
