YMCA Auckland’s proactive approach for fitness and wellness for people with diabetes

Our Jumpstart programme at YMCA Auckland City Fitness is designed for people who have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, or diabetic. This programme is fun and dynamic, and includes exercise programmes, nutrition information, goal setting, how to change behaviours, and how to keep yourself healthy.


Jumpstart is a referral-based programme that runs for 10 weeks. During this time, you’ll enjoy a variety of sessions led by an exercise professional, which could include swimming, walking, weight training, or stretching. Podiatrists, dieticians, and psychologists will support you along your journey, and you will have access to any YMCA Auckland centre throughout the programme, meaning you can focus on fitness wherever you are! We also encourage your family to come along, so you can all enjoy healthier lifestyles.
