Bequests

Making a bequest to YMCA Auckland in your will is a lasting way of showing your support and appreciation for the YMCA’s services and programmes in helping to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Bequests
Talk with your solicitor or trustee company before proceeding, but the following general information is provided for your interest and consideration.

A Bequest gift can be:

  • A percentage of your estate
  • The residue (balance) of your estate after other specific bequests have been fulfilled
  •  A percentage of the residue
  • The total estate after testamentary expenses for the funeral, fees etc. have been paid
  • A specified sum of money
  • Property, eg houses or land; stocks and shares; cars; furniture; jewellery; insurance policy

Amending your existing Will with a Codicil:

If you already have a Will, you can make a simple addition called a Codicil to benefit a charity such as YMCA Auckland.

Decide what sort of Bequest gift you would like to make (percentage, fixed amount or an asset), download and complete the attached Codicil form, have the form signed by two witnesses (neither of whom are beneficiaries in your Will), and give the form to your solicitor who will then add the Codicil to your Will.
