Basketball
Basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr James Naismith, at YMCA Massachusetts. It is one of the most popular team sports in the world and one of the most widely viewed today. Basketball is a fast moving game that involves a lot of variety including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defence and much more. It’s a great way to stay fit!

Early Morning Sports Sessions
Our Early Morning Sports sessions provide a fun and active start to your day playing team games in a non-competitive, social surrounding, supervised by a YMCA staff member. Sports sessions are 6.30am-7.30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Indoor Soccer
If you play soccer in the winter, why not keep up your footwork and fitness aby continuing to play all year round in our indoor stadium.
Table Tennis

Volleyball is a great team sport that helps you keep fit and active, as well as developing key skills such as agility, hand-eye co-ordination, strength and vertical jumps. Y-Walking
YMCA Ellerslie has a strong Y-Walking group. Suitable for any age you are able to exercise while enjoying the company and security of walking with others. Walks are scheduled at 8.30am every Sunday leaving from a different venue each week to add variety to your exercise regime. Other scenic walks and activities are planned throughout the year.
