Safeguarding our tamariki

For years The Y has provided a safe and secure environment, where kids can just be’ and enjoy their time with us. We want to support every parent by not only being a fun programme, but also a safe haven where kids’ development is supported and learning is recognised.

The Y is Aotearoa’s first and only accredited organisation through the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF). We are proud to lead the children’s workforce as a child-safe organisation. Find out more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do WINZ subsidies

Yes, we do! As an approved holiday programme, parents who are eligible can access the OSCAR subsidy from Work and Income. If this is you, contact oscar@ymcaauckland.org.nz as we need to complete Part C of the application form, and you will need to pay a 20% deposit. There are different subsidy rates depending on your eligibility – check out www.winz.govt.nz for more information.

How can I make a booking to the programme

The Y uses an online booking system called AimyPlus. To book a Y’s OSCAR Kids’ school holiday programme, you need to follow these steps:

1. Choose the location and age group of the programme you want to book from the list of available options on the Y’s website.

2. Register your child/ren on our online booking system called AimyPlus, where you will provide your details, information about your child/ren, and any medical conditions or special needs they have. https://ymca-akl-ham-bop.aimyp...

3. Make a booking for the desired programme and dates on AimyPlus, and select the payment method and frequency. You can also apply for a Work and Income Subsidy if you are eligible.

4. Confirm your booking and receive a confirmation email with the programme details and instructions.

That’s it! You have successfully booked a Y’s OSCAR Kids’ school holiday programme.

What clothing/equipment do we need to bring

Active kids are happy kids! Clothing children can move in is best, and for those who go hard, a change of clothes is always great to have in the bag. Children will need to bring a drink bottle, sunhat, morning tea and lunch every day.

    Do you provide Lunch

Unfortunately, no, not at this stage.

      Where do we meet/go

We are located at 5 Pearce Street in Onehunga. There is plenty of parking in front of us.

        Signing in process

Children must be signed in and out each day by an authorised person. You can add as many people as you would like into your AimyPlus profile to collect your child. If someone turns up to collect a child and they are not on the approved list, we will call you to confirm. If your child will be making their own way to/from the programme please email oscar@ymcaauckland.org.nz so you can complete the arrive/depart unaccompanied form.
