Volunteering

Volunteering is freely choosing to perform work for the community without payment. At the YMCA, your time and talent go a long way.

Volunteers have been the backbone of the YMCA since its establishment over 155 years ago. Today volunteers donate their time to help conduct a wide variety of programmes and services. We acknowledge the unique contribution that each YMCA volunteer brings and we thank them on behalf of the communities they serve.

Volunteering for the YMCA
The YMCA provides a diverse range of volunteering opportunities for the communities we operate in, our participants and members and importantly our staff. There is a pressing need for a deeper commitment of time, talent and resources from more people - greater community involvement. There is also a need to give more people the chance to exercise responsible community leadership.

By becoming a YMCA volunteer you have a unique opportunity to contribute to your community in a way that is both meaningful to you and to the wider community. Contact our Head Office for details.
